VISITOR INFO The Langley Centennial Museum is owned and operated by
the Township of Langley and is located in the historic Village of Fort
Langley. As our name implies, the Museum was a provincial centennial project,
although our collections and involvement with heritage dates back to the
1920s with the community organization, Native Sons. The Museum opened
in 1958 and today, after more than 40 years of offering exhibits, programs
and other heritage services we continue to grow and expand our role in
the community of Langley.
The Museum is located in the historic village of Fort
Langley. Monday - Saturday, 10:00 - 4:45 pm There is a total of 3500 square feet of exhibit galleries; the National Exhibition Centre space features changing temporary exhibits on a variety of topics including art, science and history. Annually, nearly 40,000 people visit the Museum or book a program with us. We have an active volunteer corps of over 100 people that assist in the delivery of our services. These volunteers contribute over 3500 hours annually. The Museums school programs reach 10,000 students annually. Several Museum special events are offered, plus the Museum regularly attends community special events organized by other organizations such as the GVRD and local Chambers of Commerce. Many heritage services are offered to the public including information about heritage building conservation and legislation, research facilities and library, publications, and gift shop. Langleys Community and Heritage Services Department and its core facility, the Langley Centennial Museum and National Exhibition Centre, is operated by the Township of Langley with assistance from the Museums Assistance program of the Department of Canadian Heritage, the Government of British Columbia through the British Columbia Arts Council, the BC Heritage Trust and volunteers from the community.
